Signs of the Times

At 1000 N. on a spray-painted sign.

"Don't stop believin, don't let the Lunatic in City Hall steal your joy."

Could this be a reference to Wayne all-mighty, the legend in his own mind?

A Story for Illustration

Steve Brown once told a story I've never been able to verify, but it is good for illustration all the same.

He told of Aquinas and the Pope once surveying the grandeur of Rome and the so-called Holy City. It is said that the pope said:

"It has been a long time, since we've been able to say:"Silver and Gold have I none."

To which Aquinas replied: And its been a long time since we've been able to say to the poor cripple; "Rise up and Walk, and see it happen."

What say ye..IWU?

Repent Unto the Kingdom

As I read the local propaganda news rag, it becomes clearer, what the whole driving force in Marion is. It is the love of money, and it is the root of all evil in this city, and in every other city in this world.

The love of money, has taken the Local Church, the Wesleyan University, the Public Schools, and most Private Schools, and is constantly heralded by this mayor's oppressive government.

Holiness is a God thing. Lies are of the devil, as he is their father.

To help the poor is a Godly thing. To oppress, the poor is satanic. Mammon is the other god. He is the demon that most influences all activity in Marion. He is resident present in the Mayor's office, the City Council, the County Council, at IWU, GM, and especially at Wally world.

The simple answer for all of Marion's woes, and they are many, no matter what the propaganda rag claims, is this:

Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.

In the day of the old time revivalist preachers, preaching men would scream to the crowds the word, "Repent!"

It is still a good word for today...for all of us. It means to forsake autonomous ruler ship of our lives, and confess, Jesus as Lord... and to obey Him.

Angry, Angry, Angry

Below is an article that is helping me with my obvious anger for everything being done to the poor in this community. I hope it may help you as well. Garry

By Francis Frangipane

"It's hard to remember a time when people were more angry. A civilized person ought to be, first of all, civil. Yet, today there is no discourse, no respect for another's opinion, no reasoning together for the common good. I am concerned, especially for the church.

One may argue, "Our society is decaying. We should be mad." Yes, but we can be angry yet still not sin (see Eph 4:26). Of course, I feel anger that the underpinnings of our culture are being dismantled by unprincipled men. Our souls should be vexed at the darkening cloud of demonic infestation in our culture, especially when children are caused to stumble or the weak are exploited. If we don't take a stand, the advance of evil ultimately means more people will die without Christ. So, if we are angry, it does not necessarily mean we have sinned. It can simply mean we care.

I am not surprised by the increased anger. My concern is that, unless this anger regenerates into something more redemptive, more Christlike, we will not see our world renewed. Indeed, anger that does not awaken in us redemptive action ultimately degrades into bitterness and unbelief.

A Two-Pronged Attack
While hell advances into our world on many levels, I want to discuss two primary areas. The first manifestation is brazen, widespread and alarming. For example, a corrupt law gets passed or gang violence breaks out; or it might be that a beloved public figure is scandalized. It's on the news and people are talking about it. The shock waves caused by this demonic intrusion smash against our hearts: we're disappointed, offended, stunned and, often, outraged. In this state of mind, hell launches the second area of attack. There is no newscast featuring this next stage of warfare. On this front, the devil does not come openly flaunting himself, but quietly. In seething whispers he stirs the pot of our discontent until it boils. Ultimately, where once the heart of the Christian was full of faith and love, now bitterness, hatred and malice churn in the souls of God's people.

So while we must fight the culture wars of our times, we must preserve our capacity to love if we will actually win our war. We must remember we are not fighting against "flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world" (Eph. 6:12 KJV).

Sadly, I have heard many people say recently that they've lost their vision for America. What they actually lost was not their vision, but their love. For love believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things (1 Cor. 13:7).

The Goal Of God
I will tell you how I look at this. I believe that if the Almighty's highest plan was to end evil on Earth, He could do so in a flash. Why does He wait? He desires to bring believers to Christlike maturity. In a moment evil would be gone, as it was with Sodom and Gomorrah. But we must never forget: Jesus did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.

What God waits for is us. Our Christlike perfection is the harvest upon which the Father waits. He desires to bring many sons to glory, and this world, with all its evil, is the perfect setting to bring us to Christlike maturity. Here, we have real enemies that God can use to perfect our love; in this environment, we have actual foes whose persecution helps to perfect our prayer.

Yes, we should be angry about what's wrong, but we must be Christlike in making things right. We cannot just be political; we must be spiritual, like people from another realm.

Rightly there are times when we must defend the helpless among us, but concerning ourselves, let us consider again what Jesus commanded:

"But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 5:39-45).

You see, God desires mature sons and daughters who, while fighting for their world, open the door of love into His world. To see our nation transformed, we ourselves must be transformed. Otherwise, we will risk becoming Christian hypocrites: angry that the world is not Christian but untroubled that we are not Christlike."

Garry: I must admit to anger about almost everything this city government has been doing. Especially their hatred of the poor. But few read this blog, and many in this town believe in the present course of action the city takes. I have never failed to pray for this city. I have over the last year blogged less and less because I have known that it is doing little good.

We do believe for a better day in Marion. I do know that only Jah, can bring it. Where sin does abound, His grace is greater. In spite of all we see as evil, He is working to perfect true believers. In that we give thanks. We also thank Him for hope in this day. Hope for a better day coming.

Concerning this article by Francis, I've always known we are fighting Spiritual Wickedness in high places in this community. The city as a whole has always had more of a presence of evil than good. Today's leadership is a leadership after the hearts of the people in this community. The religious have their king.

Sweet Smelling Fertilizer

It is my opinion that Wayne Seybold and the Chronicle, cover the truth about most everything with lies and misdirection.

In fact I think they would have called "Black Friday" in 1929, a "Mild inconvenient downturn in the Market".

Funny how things change. Black Friday is often thought of in these days as the retail money making day after Thanksgiving. This change is a parallel to what Marion residents endure under the misleading of the CT, and Seybold.

They must think if they call Horse Shit, "sweet smelling fertilizer" long enough, we will believe it.

I don't, do You? Horse shit by any other name, still stinks.

Rending our Garment or Hearts?

Ezra Rent his garment and mantle and fell on his knees and said He was ashamed to lift his face to God for the sins of the people Israel.

I think any spiritual prophet in Grant Co. would identify with Ezra’s brokenness for Israel. His heart had been rent as well.

When I see the actions of local Men who aggrandize themselves, and sell out this city to the highest bidder, I want to croak.

This City Government in collusion with IWU has sold out the welfare of the citizen to make a name for itself among the elitist.

I hate everything I see in the Local Government. I see not one shred of truth or humility. I hate what IWU once a Christian College called "Marion", has become.

When the city limits those who can speak to it, it shows it is elitist and anti-Constitution. There is no freedom of speech in this city. For the elite pooh pooh every dissenting voice.

I hate everything I see in this City. For Jah requires I hate evil.

Joe 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he [is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Lord we who hear your cry for repentance unto your kingdom and cry out for mercy for the innocent in this community ask this: "When you come with your judgment full, have mercy on the poor we pray....for this city has trampled them down."

From the Battle Hymn of the Republic:

"He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!"
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

Our Government Knows Best?

Very Early in Wayne Seybold's first term as Mayor he dismissed the People of Marion saying we did not understand that we are in a Global Economy. I had known that years before and many knew it before he was born. My problem with our trade policies is that our Government sold us out to head to head competition with penny wages off shore.

This CS Lewis quote may give us some light on government arrogance.

--A Preface to Paradise Lost

"Who can endure a doctrine which would allow only dentists to say whether our teeth were aching, only cobblers to say whether our shoes hurt us, and only governments to tell us whether we were being well governed?"

The problem we all have as men is the continual battle with our humanity or our Adamic Nature. We are all born in sin. I know of not one man who has overcome his evil nature. NOT ONE. They may proclaim Holy Spirit Baptism or entire Sanctification, but they do not have it! I love the Wesleyans in the Lord, but never have known one holy Wesleyan. For if they were Holy they would lose their title.

I will be teaching on this in future days on my blog. Emmaus Teacher.

From ERP

Do You Want to Know the Truth?
We often think we know what God is doing. Yet often he leads us to truth that destroys former understanding.

The way to truth is seldom taught in churches in post-Christian America. Do you want to know the truth?

He is a living person.

There is an evil, that stands against you knowing truth. It is entrenched in churches.

The first step to Truth is to repent of your man-made philospies and to ask Jah to lead you to all Truth.

AS Marion slips every so steadily into an abyss of lie, God still calls her to repent!

Greg Zoeller to Challenge Unconstitutional Obama Care!

"Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller announced this afternoon that he will join a lawsuit with other state attorneys general, challenging the new federal health care law.

Zoeller said last week that he and attorneys general in at least 13 other states were pondering the legal challenge, but today said that he has reviewed the new law and thinks it is unconstitutional. He says the law requires people to buy health insurance and encroaches on states’ sovereignty by forcing them to set up health insurance exchanges."

INDY STAR

Of Truth, Liars/Politicians, and God

Men of this day try to speak positive things in hope that to speak so releases some magic that will transform the evil of this hour, into goodness. This is hope based in lie. Propagated lies are witchcraft. (lies with power to vex people)

When men speak on TV and say we should speak positively of Marion, and mention only the good, they propagate lie.

Marion is sick. The government is sick and propagates sickness and lie. The Mayor and his TV lap dog, say we should speak positively of Marion. But what is truth? Truth is the only thing that has any power to set any one or thing free. Two witnesses of lie may sway a jury, but will never move God.

To speak the truth in love is the answer. Those who speak of our city on TV have no truth, and love only themselves. If you love someone, you know telling lies is not the way to their freedom. Yes if you love this city, to lie to it is evil, and will bring no freedom.

Faith is good. Faith is the only way to please God. But we can have faith in wrong things. The bases of our faith if it is true, can only be God’s word. The philosophy of positivism based on man’s autonomous wisdom is not a solid foundation for hope. The word of God is our only bases of hope… and that only when activated by the person of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is holy and will not dwell, with liars. Politicians have long used lies to get their way. This practice is evil, brought forth in pride and fear. Faith and fear are opposites. Faith never denies the way things are, yet it has a reason for a positive confession against the lack, need, or evil it admits. True faith is based on the Truth of God! He never fails. Ultimately men always fail, in all endeavors that exclude God.

This city has long propagated "man ideas", with a Jesus label on it. This is the result of the ministry of IWU who left its first love long ago for love of the demon Mammon. Mammon is the problem, not the answer.

Jah's way is rather, to proclaim, "thus saith the Lord". Our only place of honor is to then say..."We hear, and obey YOU LORD!" Christian brother let our name only be named with the broken and contrite, and with they who tremble at Jah's Word. Your lack, your void gives Father something to fill. If we are full of the same thing the city fathers are, we are above all miserable people. Vessels filled with pride cannot be filled with HIS SPIRIT!

When Father wants to do something in this earth it is always done in a void, a place of lack, a vacuum. Let us believe this God who loves the people of this city will do something of note for the poor in this city. The poor are a multitude and have a great need of filling. DO IT LORD!

Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Pe 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
Job 36:15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
Psa 9:18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall [not] perish for ever.
